Travel Guide: Cheap and Affordable Rooms in Boracay Station 2

UPDATED: FEBRUARY, 2017. Cheap and Affordable Rooms in Boracay Station 2. While I was looking in the internet for a cheap room to stay in Boracay that would cost around P1,000-P1,500 (UPDATE: As of January 2017, rate per room is Php1,500 to Php2,500 depending on the season) , I chanced upon Tan’s Guesthouse located in boat station 2. I read a lot of very positive feedback from its’ previous guests online so I put it on the top of my list of budget accomodation to check out when I get there.

Upon arrival at Boracay port, we were approached by a local lady asking us if we had already reserved a room to stay in the island. Normally, I would say yes, just so agents would stop bothering us and leave us alone immediately. But the lady seemed very nice and she mentioned that she was just there to help tourists to find a place to stay at no extra charge. So I told her, we planned to stay at Station 2 and we wanted to check out the rooms at Tan’s Guesthouse. She offered to take us there. Since I only have a few information on finding the guesthouse, I thought it would be best to have someone who knows the way to accompany us. This would save us time.

We rode a tricycle and stopped at the D’Mall. From there, we walked all the way to the beach path and then turned left. We continued to walk passing by Mango Ray Cottages on the left, and then just after E. Pascual Store, and right before 928 Cafe and Grill, we turned left again and walked into an alley where a cluster of budget accomodations are located. Once you get here, you would have no problem looking for a room to stay. Chances are, since there are many to choose from, you would surely find one that would best suit your personal needs and preferences. At the far end of the alley is Tan’s Guesthouse. We would have wanted to stay at Tan’s, but since I was looking for a room with WIFI access, I opted to stay at Erico’s House instead. We were told, for reason I’m not so sure of, that the room that was available for us at Tan’s Guesthouse had no access to their WIFI.

Here’s a rough map I made to help you find the place. The guesthouses are located about 1-3 minutes walk from the beach and is also close to many bars and resturant.

Please note that I am not affiliated with any of these guesthouses. For your inquiries, reservation, issues and concerns, please refer to the contact numbers below:

    Eriko’s House: (036)288-3382 / (0920)920-2481 /(0928)500-0040
Unfortunately, I could not recommend Eriko’s anymore due to a not pleasant stay last January 2017. The room that was given to us looked ok at first but we were horrified when we found out the next day that our bags got wet due to a water leakage coming from a defective aircon which was located just above the table where we put our bags. ( It was Ok the entire day, but it rained that night so that probably caused the leakage) We became really worried when my sister found out that her authentic Gucci bag was soaked with water. We immediately went down and asked for an electric fan so we could dry it up to prevent water marks. The staff simply provided us with an electric fan and turned her back without showing any concern. When we asked for a blower, the staff simply said none, and even smiled, giving us the impression that we are overreacting. We became extremely disappointed for the lack of concern so we asked to talk to the manager. The staff said that the manager, who is also the owner, wasn’t around, and that she was by that time in Manila. We asked if we could talk to her over the phone. The staff called the owner, and after a few minutes she told us that the owner/manager did not want to talk to us. She even told us that if we talked to the manager, we might just end up fighting over the phone. We said, we simply wanted to give feedback, but the staff said, the owner/manager really didn’t want to talk to us. They even suggested we just go to the barangay hall to file a complaint. We then asked for a refund for the two remaining nights of our stay, and left Eriko’s as soon as we found another place to stay. In all fairness, most of Eriko’s rooms are OK for the price. Unfortunately for us, we were given a room with a defective aircon. However, based on what I’ve experienced, your stay can only be good just as as long as you wouldn’t have any similar unfortunate experience. The staff are incompetent, and the owner/manager seems to be a snob and simply wouldn’t care of any untoward incidents that may happen to the guests. No wonder, the staff seems to have a similar attitude. We filed an incident report at the DOT and found out that they are not DOT certified.

  • James, I’m sorry I don’t have those information either. Maja’s place, which is just beside Eriko’s where we stayed, looked nice though and it’s just 2-3 minutes away from the beach. It is located at station 2.

  • Thanks for the info Senyor!

And oh, thanks for the map ahh! heheehe.

🙂 thanks for the info Fernique!

btw, ano nga paa yung nababasa ko sa iba na Tans namaste? yung extension daw ng Tans? yun ata yung building na mas maganda yung rooms eh based sa mga nakikita ko online.
