Unless you are visiting Puerto Galera during, or two weeks before or after the Holy Week, you may simply go to Puerto Galera without any room reservation. There’s plenty of accommodation in Puerto Galera, especially at White Beach. First timers need not worry because after alighting the ferry, resort employees, and local agents would approach the passengers and offer assistance in looking for a place to stay in White Beach. They don’t charge the tourists for this. Local agents would get a commission from the resort instead. You may however give them a tip if you wish. This was how I found VILLA DEL CAR/LENLIE’S RESTAURANT– the place I consider “home’ in Puerto Galera. LENLY’S GUESTHOUSE is just a 3 to 5-minute short walk away from White Beach, which I really like since it’s not too far from the beach, but it’s far enough from the noisy bars at the beachfront. The rooms are large, and clean with 2 queen-size beds and could fit up to 8 guests. You may request for extra pillows and a mattress if needed. Gas stoves and cooking utensils are available for those who wish to cook. Rate starts at Php1,000, but this could go up depending on the season and the number of guests staying in one room. They also have furnished apartments available to rent monthly. This is a family-operated guesthouse, and the staff who are mostly members of the family are very friendly and accommodating. For its reasonable rates, cleanliness, and its quiet and relaxing surrounding, Villa Del Car is definitely a value for money. It was the normal size for a lodge with 2 queen beds. Air-conditioning was working fine, cable TV with minimum channels, and room has plenty of outlets for charging. The staff were very nice and there was even welcome drinks. Upon getting inside the room, it was already cool because the aircon was already turned on. It was very clean and well maintained. It was just basic with a dresser, LCD TV (other more expensive hotels only have CRT TVs), a queen sized bed (not too soft and not too hard) and 2 soft pillows which are comfortable enough to give you a good sleep. They also have access to a private beach which is really secluded. You need to pass through a short forest in order to go to the private beach.
